What made you decide this career path?

I always wanted to be in healthcare and wasn’t sure if I wanted to work with adults or kids. This just seemed like a good way to get my foot in the door. I applied to school, got in, and didn’t look back.

Where have you lived and what has been your favorite base so far?

I have lived with my husband at Ft. Gordon , GA, and Ft. Meade, MD. He was also in Monterey for 1.5 years and I visited him monthly.  We really love Ft. Meade. There are so many things to do and the weather is nice.

What is the biggest challenge of being a military spouse and pursuing your career?

Of course the moves, but also the unpredictable schedule of the service member. I constantly have to rearrange my own schedule, search for childcare, or find an emergency back up plan.

What are your other hobbies? I enjoy baking, arts and crafts, and exercising.

What are some benefits of being a military spouse as a business owner?

I get to make my own schedule, see my own client profile, and treat clients like family. I get to be flexible and adaptable and being a military spouse has allowed me to learn to go with the flow, not plan too much, or over think.

If you could, what advice would you give yourself when you first started your business?  Remember, when you put your heart and energy into something, it will always grow.
