“Think outside of the box and to create opportunities for yourself!”

When did you start your business & what made you decide this career? I became a Registered Dietitian about 4 years ago, and this past spring chose to take my career virtually! I currently work full time as a Registered dietitian and online trainer for an incredible company called DLDNation as an independent contractor.
Where have you lived & what has been your favorite base so far? We have traveled down the flight school path through Pensacola FL, Kingsville, TX, and Beaufort, SC, and the communities in all three places have been incredible, but Beaufort was the most beautiful location!
That is the biggest challenge of being a military spouse & pursuing your career? The biggest challenge thus far has been the inability to settle down. I was not able to start my own private practice for lack of long term connections in the community, or hold a long term position for the same reason.
What are some of your hobbies? I love spending time hiking all over Japan, thrifting for pottery, practicing and teaching yoga!

What are some of the benefits of being a military spouse as a business owner? The benefits of being able to work remotely are literally ENDLESS! I am forever grateful for being able to choose my own hours, or being able to work from anywhere! I am able to work in the mornings, take breaks in the afternoon to explore my new surroundings, then close out the day with more work!
If you could give yourself a piece of advice when you started your business what would it be? My advice for someone trying to start out as an entrepreneur, or trying to find a virtual position is to be bold! To think outside of the box and to create opportunities for yourself!
