Meet Jamie Moyle: Owner of Active Wear For Everybody

Jamie loves health and fitness so she made it her business. She’s on a mission to spread positivity and confidence to all women through the cutest leggings ever! Through supportive activewear the women she come in contact with are learning to love themselves during this exact phase of life! Jamie’s husband is in the Air Force and they are currently stationed in Aberdeen, North Carolina where her husband works at both Ft Bragg and Pope Air Force Base.

“You don’t have to feel stuck or settled at a job just because you are a spouse you can do exactly what you dream of you just have to believe and give it some time!”

– Jamie Moyle

When did you start your business & what made you decide this career path? I started my business 3 years ago when we were in UT stationed at Hill AFB. I honestly started this career path because activewear was my uniform for my current jobs at the time which were working at the Warrior Fitness Center as well as the Child Development Center. I wore activewear so much I needed to start to just take advantage of the 25% off discount!

Where have you lived and what has been your favorite base so far? We have lived in Okinawa Japan, Rapid City South Dakota, Layton UT, and now Aberdeen North Carolina. I have a favorite thing about everywhere we have ever lived! That’s the beauty of military life. You get to experience so much life that you didn’t know existed if you stayed in one place. One of my top favorite things about living in Rapid City, South Dakota was the small town living! By the end of our time there I could go to any store or restaurant and see someone I personally knew!

What is the biggest challenge of being a military spouse and pursuing your career? Being a military spouse sure comes with its difficulties. I believe the most challenging part of being a military spouse and pursuing a career is knowing that your career comes second. Now, I don’t mean that in a bad way, but it’s the truth. Our spouses sign their rights away for our country and whatever the Chief Commander says is what they do. Learning to fit our careers in the unknown of military life just makes us stronger and more resilient! We learn to fit pockets of time when we can work on just us!

What are your hobbies? My hobbies include trying out all the local restaurants and coffee shops in our area (supporting small businesses for sure), crossfit, and day trips and weekend getaways to explore the place we call home for a short period of time!

What are some benefits of being a military spouse as a business owner? The biggest benefit of being a military spouse and owning my own business is that I never have to leave a duty station and worry about what I am going to do next. Before owning my own business I use to stress every move; where would I work, how would I make money, and should I file for unemployment were always questions running through my head. Now, when we move I find myself excited and settled! I don’t have to worry about when that next pay check is coming, how we are going to get unpacked while interviewing for jobs, or just finding a job to say I have a job. I can do everything on my own time without the extra stress and worry! Moving is actually enjoyable now that I own my own business!

If you could, what advice would you give yourself when you first started your business? If there was any piece of advice I could have given myself it would have been to not hold back! What I am doing is a possibility and opportunity for all spouses! However, I was so nervous and afraid of what others might think that I failed to share about it! Now I am living proof that success is possible and everyday I want to scream that from the rooftops! You don’t have to feel stuck or settled at a job just because you are a spouse you can do exactly what you dream of you just have to believe and give it some time!
