Spouse-ly was founded by Monica Fullerton. She is also a mom of twins, an entrepreneur and business enthusiast. She has always wanted to make a difference in her military community and bring something new to the table. She found a way to benefit all military spouses, service members and veterans all over the U.S.
Spouse-ly is a place for gifted business owners to sell their products or provide services as well as purchase items to give back to these military spouses and families! Monica’s husband is in the Air Force and they are currently stationed at Creech Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.
When did you start your business & what made you decide this career path? Spouse-ly launched in early 2020, I was so inspired by the amount of talent within the military community that I knew I had to do something! I wanted to bring together all of the amazing makers, creators, and entrepreneurs on one easy platform for people to shop small and make a big impact.
Where have you lived and what has been your favorite base so far? Florida, Texas, Las Vegas- so far the best has been Las Vegas which I never thought I would like!
What is the biggest challenge of being a military spouse and pursuing your career? Finding something that can provide both flexibility and stability while living the military life. I have worked in the corporate world for a long time and it’s hard to find something that supports our lifestyle- that’s why entrepreneurship is so wonderful!
What are your other hobbies? Interior decorating, traveling, meeting new people, going on new adventures with my family!
What are some benefits of being a military spouse as a business owner? You are able to do something that you truly love while not having to worry about how you are going to start again each time you move. Our community is amazing and we are all there to support one another in so many different ways!
If you could, what advice would you give yourself when you first started your business? I would have focused on making sure I was finding the right companies that could help bring my vision to life, we have had some set backs from a tech standpoint but each one has been a new learning experience to keep pushing forward.
