Meet Diana Matuszak: Fitness couch

Diana’s passion and purpose is her coaching practice and lifestyle brand. She is earning her Masters in Transformational Mindset Coaching. She has found her purpose in life – to help YOU find YOUR best health, confidence, and happiness. Her husband is in the Air Force and they are currently stationed in Aviano, Italy. Below is a quote she lives by!

“Eat clean, stay fit, have a burger to stay sane.”

When did you start your business & what made you decide this career path? I started my holistic health and lifestyle coaching business in 2017. To make a long story short, I realized my passion for health and wellness at the end of my college career when I’d just about completed my accounting and economics majors. I continued down that path in the corporate world working for a very large accounting firm. Though I did love what I was doing, I knew it wasn’t what I was being called to do with my life. It was around a year of working as a CPA that I found the Health Coach Institute. As soon as I completed my certification I quit my corporate job and went full force to make my passion my career. I know I would’ve ended up on this path if my husband wasn’t in the Air Force, but the fact that my corporate career could not follow wherever the AF sent us was a great incentive to dive in right away.

Where have you lived and what has been your favorite base so far? We have lived in Columbus, MS, Alamogordo, NM, and Aviano Italy. Italy is of course my favorite! But I will always be a strong believer that every base is what you make of it.

What is the biggest challenge of being a military spouse and pursuing your career? Having the blessing of working for myself is incredibly empowering as a military spouse. The biggest challenge of living this life and still pursuing my career is work-social balance. I have a hard time finding the perfect balance for me between meeting new friends and nurturing those relationships, and diving into my business. I think we military spouses can all connect on the fact that changing friend groups is both a blessing (because we get to have friends all over the world) and a curse (because it’s almost as if you’re starting over each move).

What are your other hobbies? I love hiking, cooking, baking, traveling, and playing tennis!

What are some benefits of being a military spouse as a business owner? The biggest benefit is that you can grow your career consistently without having to take steps back as you would in a traditional corporate job (at least for most business rolls). It’s also so empowering to have a separate identity from your “military life.” 8. Allow yourself to grow. Launch, learn, grow, repeat.

Any future plans or dreams for your business? I’m currently studying to be a certified personal trainer which I am excited to add to my current offerings!
