Her husband is in the United States Marine Corps. They are currently located at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma.
When did you start your business & what made you decide this career path?
My husband and I had just gotten stationed at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. Just as I was starting to look for a job, the pandemic hit, and everything was put on pause. I had always thought of being an entrepreneur and in the midst of a pandemic, I thought why not now?
I started noticing the lack of military pride apparel available, especially for women. After 5 years of being in the military community, all I had was one quarter-zip pullover with an official emblem. I wanted to create something that was different from what I was seeing in stores, thus I created At Ease Apparel.

Almost everyone knows someone that is or was serving in our military and I wanted to create something that represented our branches but was subtle enough that anyone could wear it. We all have someone we’re proud of.
Where have you lived and what has been your favorite base so far? I joined my husband while he was stationed at Twentynine Palms in California prior to us getting stationed at Fort Sill. While in California we were able to visit some wonderful weekend destinations like Palm Springs, Las Vegas, San Diego, Joshua Tree, and Orange County. We loved getting to experience the desert and all it had to offer. Fort Sill has been much more family-driven for us. We haven’t gotten to travel as much due to COVID but look forward to seeing what Oklahoma and Texas have to offer.
What is the biggest challenge of being a military spouse and pursuing your career? The biggest challenge I endured was looking for a job and trying to find the perfect fit every time we move. At Ease was truly created because I am a military spouse. I needed something that could travel with me no matter where we were in the country. I have truly enjoyed learning what it takes to run a business day to day.
What are your other hobbies? I enjoy traveling, exercising, board games, and spending time with friends and family.
What are some benefits of being a military spouse as a business owner? I am lucky enough that I am able to run my business out of my home and it can travel with me.
If you could, what advice would you give yourself when you first started your business? Stop thinking that you can’t do something and just give it a try. I wish I would have started this long ago. There will always be people to help you through the unknown.
Any future plans or dreams for your business? At Ease just recently passed our six-month anniversary and had sales to 20 different states plus Washington D.C. I hope to one day have shipped to all 50 states. I truly just want to continue to promote patriotism and pride for our country and military branches.
